Obituary for Wilma E. Ward (Stewart)

Wilma Evelyn Stewart was born February 24, 1930 in Cookeville, Tennessee to Sherman and Violet Stewart.
Wilma was united in Holy Matrimony to Willie E. Ward on May 27, 1948. To this union four children were born; Betty Joyce Ward, Victor Eugene Ward, Judy Ann Ward, and Willie Earl Ward.

Wilma was baptized at an early age and was a member of Fairview Church of Christ in Cookeville, Tennessee. More recently she became a member of the Keystone Church of Christ (Indianapolis, Indiana) where she was able to witness her husband faithfully volunteer to lead the congregation in song, cook various dishes for pitch-in dinners, and create lasting friendships.

Wilma continued to be a caring and compassionate wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who enjoyed listening to talk radio, collecting numerous cookbooks, and completing word searches while resting in the evenings. Although she wasn’t often in the drivers seat, you could always rely on her to tell you which way to go and how to get there, regardless of the state.
Mrs. Wilma Evelyn Ward was called home on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at the age of eighty-seven years, ten months, and seven days.
She was proceeded in death by her parents (Sherman and Violet Stewart); her son (Victor Ward); her siblings, Noah Stewart (infant), Betty Scruggs, Winona Loftis, Robert Stewart, Waymon Stewart, Cora Jackson, Tom Stewart, Jane Wynkoop.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of sixty-nine years Willie Ward; her children, Betty Ward, Judy Stanton (David), and Billy Ward (Donna); her brother, Ralph Stewart (Patsy); two brother-in-laws, Benton Loftis and Bud Scruggs; her grandchildren, Jennifer Lewis, Stephanie Newkirk, Michelle Cass (Erik), Samantha Ward, Amanda Woodson, Jonathan Jensen (Sarah), and Bradley Ward; her great-grandchildren; Lori(24), Aaron(23), Raushawn(20), Airika(19), Erik(17), Benton(15), Jada(15), Krista(13), Ashlynne(10), Hunter(4), and a host of family and friends.
