Obituary for
Ora Maxine Bearden (Lathey)
Maxine Bearden, of Indianapolis, sister, wife, mother and grandmother, departed this life on December 31st 2017 to be with her heavenly Father. Maxine was born on the 4th of February 1933, in Leon, West Virginia.
In 1951 she met Norman Bearden through mutual friends and fell in love. In October of 1952 they married and spent 60 wonderful years together. Norman preceded her in death. Maxine was an avid reader. She consumed more books in her lifetime than one library can hold. She had a soft spot in her heart for the Indianapolis 500 race because her husband and children took a keen interest in it starting in the 1960’s. It became a Memorial Day family tradition for the Bearden family to watch or attend the Indy 500. She was a lifetime member of the Southport United Methodist Church.
Maxine leaves to God's care her three children, Norman, Jr. (wife Pamela), Patricia and David; and five grandchildren, Christopher, Amanda, Blake, Michael and Tommy and great grandchild, Kiley.
Memorial donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Research (alzheimersresearchuk.org) or to the United Methodist Church.
We will miss her.
A memorial service will be conducted by Pastor Derek Weber on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm with a funeral service at 12:00 pm in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, IN.
