Obituary for Betty J. Rutherford

Betty J. Rutherford, of Indianapolis passed away January 17, 2018. She was born November 23 to John and Kester (Brown) Stewart.

Betty enjoyed going to the spa and the gym, going to the casino and gambling and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and cooking for her family on Sundays. Betty was a people person, she worked a lot to provide for her family and was employed as a union secretary, local #29, for AFL-CIO/RWDSU, John Sexton Company and United Signature Foods for 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob G. Rutherford; son, Robert Lewis Rutherford; daughter, Elizabeth Anne Rutherford; sister, Sally Curren and great grandson, Titan Marino.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Bobbie Jo (William) Russell, Cynthia J. (Michael Warren) Steward and Charlene (Michael) Brundage; son, Bobby Greer; brothers, John and David Stewart; brother in law, Ronald Curren; sisters, Patricia (Mark) Zeronik and Peggy (Michael) McLaren; grandchildren, Stacee Tracy, Brian Steward, Coree Steward, Amee Steward, Zachary Russell, Lindsey Marino, Jennifer Enamorado, Jessica Brundage; great grandchildren, Trent Bibbs, Kelsi Steward, Kaylee Hooks, Taylor Tracy, Mara Steward, Donovan Russell, Damon Russell, Delaney Russell, Rylen McGinsie, Ryker Marino, Haven Marino, DeShon Tilly, Day’Auna Brundage, Kody Taylor, Shon Taylor, Jazman Taylor, Sammy Taylor, Elizabeth Taylor, Tevaun Smitherman, Amariyon Smitherman, Isaian Sedjou and Josiah Enamorado.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 11:00 am, with visitation one hour prior, also in the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
