Betty Colleen Riley (Richards)
Betty C. Riley, age 87 of Indianapolis passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017. She was born February 21, 1929 in Columbus, IN to Jerry and Iva (Crippen) Richards. Betty married William “Earl” Riley on July 19, 1947 in Indianapolis and they enjoyed their life together until his passing on August 15, 2004. She loved to work in her garden, loved to read, watch baseball and she was an avid card player. Betty loved her life and the family above all and she will be greatly missed by all who know and love her.
Betty is survived by her son, Larry J. (Diana) Riley of Mooresville; daughters, Beverly J. (JD) Mabbitt of Indianapolis and Cheryl A. (Al) Turnipseed of Broken Arrow, OK; sister, Marjorie Hornberger of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Andrea (Brian Beck) Riley of Mooresville, Allison (Kyle) Griffith of Indianapolis, Adam Burk of Greenwood and Jason (Sheri) Burk of Indianapolis; great grandchildren, Logan Riley, Elana Rivers, Olivia Faucett, and Savannah, Ethan and Maddie Burk. Betty was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, Roy Richards.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood with entombment to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509 New York, NY 10018 or Heart to Heart Hospice, 252 Meadow Dr # 6, Danville, IN 46122.
