Obituary for Edna Irene Noel (Voiles)

Edna Irene Noel (Voiles)
Edna Irene (Voiles) Noel, age 94, went home to her Heavenly Father on March 20, 2017, while in her sixth month of residence at Brownsburg Meadows. She was born April 17, 1922 to Walter Scott and Ruby Faith (Skaggs) Voiles, in Morgan County, Indiana. On May 7, 1938, she was married to Winford H. Noel, and they were members of Pleasant Grove Christian Church, Martinsville, Indiana.
Edna was a full-time homemaker and mother, with creative talents in cake baking and cookie making. She joined her husband in their yearly gardening project and diligently served him and their family with loving care. She loved to read, especially her Bible, and learn new things. No matter her age of almost 95, she was child-like in her faith and passionate in her convictions. She had a kind and accepting heart for all nationalities of people, many of whom she met while attending The Blended Church, in Indianapolis. It was there that she rededicated her life to God through baptism at age 87. In her most senior years, she was simply and lovingly known to many as Momma.
She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 70 years, Winford H. Noel; her parents, Walter and Ruby Voiles; her sister, Alice Cummins; infant sister, Floy Ruth Voiles; infant brother, Walter Scott Voiles Jr., and an infant son, Timothy C. Noel.
Left to mourn her passing are two sons, Verne D. Noel and friend, Barbara Scott, and Terry D. Noel and friend, Rebecca Adkins; her daughter, Ramona F. and husband, Philip G. Preston; six grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, as well as many friends.
Services will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on US 135 in Greenwood, on Saturday, March 25, 2017, with viewing from 1:30 to 2:30 pm and the funeral following. There will be no grave side service.
Instead of flowers or planters, and in keeping with Momma's desires, please donate to YOUR favorite charity or to THE BLENDED CHURCH, 2215 Country Club Road, Indianapolis, IN 46234 or PLEASANT GROVE CHRISTIAN CHURCH, 6605 Maple Grove Road, Martinsville, IN 46151.
